Constructing Excellence in Wales is funded by Welsh Government to improve working practices in the construction industry throughout Wales.  The terms and conditions of our Grant require us to operate Task and Finish Groups on relevant industry topics as and when required. 

We believe a Construction Strategy for Wales is long overdue. In England we have Construction 2025 and, more recently, Government Construction Strategy 2016 – 20. Much of that document would apply in Wales but we do now have our own Welsh legislation in the form of the Environment (Wales)  Act 2016 and the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales)  Act 2015.  These two pieces of legislation alone will have a significant impact on the industry in Wales. 

You are invited to take part in the first meeting of the Construction Strategy for Wales Task Group on Thursday 7^th September 2017.  It will take place between 12.30pm and 5.30pm in Cardiff, venue to be advised. This first meeting will be a facilitated workshop out of which a smaller working group – or groups -  will be formed. Further information will be circulated prior to the event. If you are unable to attend, please nominate someone from your organisation or contacts who you believe should be involved in this work. As with previous CEW Task Groups, we are looking for a broad representation of the industry here in Wales.
