Welcome to our Weekly E-Bulletin

By the time you read this Wales and the rest of the country will have made some decisions about how we are all to be governed. That might mean some adjustment in policy and emphasis around the country – but one thing it will not mean is a relaxing in the commitment of the CEW team to advocate best practice.

The value from collaborative working and integrated team working is obvious to anyone close enough to the judging process of the CEW Awards. Each scheme, project and organisation that has made it to the shortlist (and some that didn’t too) all demonstrate that best practice principles lead to better designs, better delivery and improved and better value built environment for Wales.

That is the thinking behind the fresh energy for the CEW Exemplar programme now led by Gordon Brown. It’s tough to be the best, but if you are proud of the results and the process followed and want to share the learning then it is worth it in the end.

But don’t just look at our stories about the CEW Awards and Exemplar Programme. Please check out our links to the review of HUGS and the Building Regs, look at the issues behind the Adaption Sub-Committee and why not consider how our world can be more sustainable if we allow for more use of cycling in our towns? There is an awful lot going on inside the world of Welsh construction. If we miss anything – then let us know and we will share it as best we can.
