Can Welsh Government Help you Build the Right Homes in Wales?
BEST: Free Low Carbon Leadership Course

Welcome to our Weekly E-Bulletin

It’s countdown time to the CEW Awards night – one of the biggest occasions in the Welsh construction calendar.

This year more than ever it is true to say that all of the organisations, companies and individuals involved in our awards are all winners. Each and everyone should be applauded for their commitment to the core values of Welsh construction – and we should also thank all our sponsors, especially the headline supporters of the awards: Network Rail, Costain and ABC Electrification.

The clear desire to provide Wales with a built environment that is fit for purpose, aesthetically pleasing, sustainable and benefits everyone involved is captured by all of the entrants to the CEW Awards and championed by the winners. Thank you to everyone that entered and the teams sat behind them. Everyone involved in the various schemes, projects or business plans, live the best practice core values advocated by Government and CEW and then pursued throughout the Welsh supply chain.

So, it is an exciting week for us all and the prospects for our industry look good – particularly with the news the UK Government has given planning consent for Swansea Bay’s £1bn “world first” tidal lagoon station, which starts the ball rolling for what might be a £30bn investment in UK zero carbon tidal energy industry. With landmark schemes such as the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon and if we continue to adhere to best practice principles and pursue value – then Wales can lead the world in construction and not just the UK.
