Happy New Year from CEW

The weather has certainly blown the away memories of Christmas and brought a New Year full of expectation. Our industry, CEW, Government and our stakeholders have all worked together to take construction in Wales forward and we are well placed to make 2014 a truly great year for all of us in the industry.

There is still a lot to do and it is going to be a busy year, but we have a strong foundation on which to build. Next week we will be launching the CEW Awards for 2014, giving all of us a chance to celebrate success. But we also need to focus on the tasks important to our country – issues such as low carbon homes have to be addressed and we are running two events to educate, inform and challenge the industry to meet Government targets in Cardiff and Llandudno.

Low carbon, waste and sustainability as a whole all knit together with community benefits within collaborative procurement and integrated working. As the economy improves we must not forget that it is by working together that we will continue to achieve our objectives and establish a stronger, fitter and world class construction industry in Wales. Thank you for all your hard work in 2013, but let’s maintain the momentum and make this New Year even better.
