A brief aimed at raising awareness of the voluntary frameworks for dealing with excavated materials, Natural Resources Wales will provide you with an overview of each framework.  When applied, these frameworks can result in the excavated materials not being considered a waste.

The intended audience for these sessions should be people from the construction sector who are likely to excavate soils and aggregates as well as the waste industry who handle them. The intention of these sessions is raise awareness of these protocols, outlining the benefits and providing an overview of how they should be applied. 

 The brief will cover:

  • Aggregates Quality Protocol  - framework for managing waste derived aggregates for use as a non-waste
  • CLAIRE Code of Practice – framework for the development industry when assessment when excavated soils cease to be a waste for a particular use
  • A Q&A session for you to discuss the practical implications of applying these frameworks.


How to Book: To reserve your place please email CEWales Events stating your full contact details and the names of all delegates wishing to attend. Substitution of delegates can be made at any time.

Non-attendance by any registered delegate will be charged £20 unless you have informed us two working days before the event is due to take place.

In order to reduce wastage at our events CEW operates a policy of only notifying venue details when issuing registration confirmation. This ensures we only cater for delegates who have registered and don’t over order for individuals who may or may not turn up on the day.
