Welcome to our Weekly E-Bulletin

Many times in this newsletter and in public comments CEW states that Welsh construction is improving, building great projects and delivering on key targets and often leading the way in the UK sector.

All of that is true. You can see just from the stories in this week’s newsletter that there is a commitment to minimising waste and working with community projects but we can do better – we cannot rest on our laurels. There must be no easing up for the calls for continuous improvement in construction processes and the drive for more and even better, best practice.

The proof for this lies in the work behind the review of No Turning Back. Click on the story and you will see a hint of the background to why we decided to undertake a review – but in a nutshell, there remains a desire to go further than the recommendations of 2010 and take Welsh construction forward boldly. The focus is on public sector construction because it remains the largest customer for our supply chain – but the lessons can be learned and shared across private and public works.

Despite some arguments to the contrary, there is a clear restlessness in our supply chain to keep on with the change agenda and ensure we work more openly, more consistently and deliver even great projects that hit all Government targets.
