Education can be one of the most complex and yet rewarding types of project and so it makes sense to learn from some of the best delivers of school buildings.
The North Wales Best Practice Club is giving you the chance to see a best practice presentation and tour of the new Rhyl High School from the team behind it – Willmott Dixon. On the back of its award winning Ysgol-y-Gogarth school – delivered for pupils requiring special needs education – its team has been responsible for the design and construction of a new secondary school for 1,200 pupils age 11 -16 in nearby Rhyl, North Wales. Willmott Dixon has provided 10,100 square metres of space arranged over three storeys, which is also a base for 45 pupils from the nearby community special school, Ysgol Tir Morfa. Head teacher Claire Armistead: "I can't believe this is ours, it's amazing! You can't walk through here without seeing through every classroom, through every area. I can't imagine how well this turned out; it's beyond my best dream!"

Er bod prosiectau Addysg ymhlith y rhai mwyaf cymhleth, maent hefyd yn rhoi boddhad aruthrol wedi eu cyflawni. Ac felly mae’n gwbl briodol ein bod yn dysgu oddi wrth yr adeiladau ysgol gorau.
Trefnodd Clwb Arfer Gorau Gogledd Cymru y cyfle hwn ichi gael taith o amgylch Ysgol Uwchradd Y Rhyl a chyflwyniad arfer gorau gan Willmott Dixon, y tîm a oedd yn gyfrifol am yr adeilad.
Yn dilyn eu llwyddiant yn ennill gwobrau am gynllun Ysgol y Gogarth Llandudno -ysgol i blant ag anghenion dysgu ychwanegol – bu’r tîm yn gyfrifol am adeiladu ysgol uwchradd newydd ar gyfer 1,200 o ddisgyblion 11 i 16 oed nid nepell i ffwrdd yn Y Rhyl, Sir Ddinbych. Adeiladodd Willmott Dixon ysgol dri llawr 10,100 metr sgwâr sydd hefyd yn cael ei defnyddio gan 45 disgybl ysgol gymunedol arbennig Ysgol Tir Morfa gerllaw. Dywedodd Pennaeth yr Ysgol, Claire Armistead: "’Dwi methu coelio fod y lle hyfryd hwn at ein defnydd ni! Fedrwch chi ddim cerdded trwodd heb weld drwy bod dosbarth a phob ardal ddysgu. Mae’r ysgol yn ardderchog, a thu hwnt i’m gobeithion gorau!”
