Consultation on Draft Statutory Guidance on Separate Collection of Waste Paper, Metal, Plastic and Glass

The Welsh Government is consulting on statutory guidance on the separate collection of waste paper, plastic, metal and glass for recycling. This is required by the EU Waste Framework Directive and the 2011 and 2012 Waste (England and Wales) Regulations and supports our overarching waste strategy, ‘Towards Zero Waste’.

As the move towards separate collection of materials to increase high quality recycling affects your organisation and your partner organisations, you are invited to respond to the consultation and to share it with any interested bodies who might also wish to respond. The consultation is open from today 28 April 2014 until 21 July 2014. The Welsh Government is aiming to provide the final guidance in autumn of this year, ahead of the change in legislation which comes into effect on 1 January 2015.
