Innovation and Sparks Fly at Menai Sciene Park!

Menai Science Park is a £20m Welsh Government and EU ERDF Funded project that aims to unlock great ideas in North Wales.

Menai Science Park Ltd (M-SParc) is currently developing ambitious plans to establish a Science Park in Gaerwen, some six miles from Bangor. M-SParc Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bangor University, aims to establish the first Science Park in the region offering clean workspace, offices and labs along with open hot desking.

M-SParc Ltd will host companies, businesses, and research projects that are linked with knowledge based science, energy, environmental services and clean technology enterprises (although it will not necessarily be limited to these sectors).  Ancillary services such as business and admin support, IP advice and a Risk Fund will also be available for businesses established on the site.

We all have great ideas. But how many become reality? To turn that initial idea into a successful venture something extra is needed. Something which ignites ambition. Something that creates the energy to succeed. Something which helps that initial spark light the way to a better future. The aim is that M-SParc will provide the key to unlocking these great ideas in North Wales.

To date, the £20m Welsh Government and EU ERDF Funded project, has secured Outline Planning Permission and is currently awaiting determination of the reserved matters application. The Design and Build contractors, Willmott Dixon, were appointed from the North Wales Procurement Framework and have been working with the project team to develop the detailed designs based upon concepts developed by architects FaulknerBrowns. The intention is to be on site from August 2016 with completion in 2018.
