Welsh energy: it’s in your hands

ICE Wales Cymru is holding its first energy conference next week and it is a topic that could trigger a lot of work for Welsh construction. Are you going to benefit?

Next week’s ICE energy conference, sponsored by Mott MacDonald and Horizon Nuclear Power, is supported by The Energy Institute, The Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Nuclear Institute and Cardiff University.

This conference will give an overview of the main sources of energy currently being used and developed, with examples of existing schemes and discussions about the relative merits of different types of energy generation and future opportunities and challenges.

Experts on a wide range of types of energy - from energy companies and academia - will cover topics on

  • Marine Energy
  • Local Energy Generation
  • Energy Storage and Distribution
  • Nuclear Energy

Viewpoints from the fracking industry and the RSPB will be expressed prior to the Expert Panel session at the end of the conference, when the day's proceedings will be discussed. Whatever is discussed the ideas and projects will all generate work for the Welsh construction industry. Attend if you can – but if you don’t then make sure you keep an eye on the debate because it can only benefit Welsh construction in the longer run.

You can book your place on line at: https://www.ice.org.uk/events/energy-conference-cardiff
