Welcome to our E-Bulletin

Now we know !!! Theresa May is returned as PM but in a very difficult place and so we will need to adjust to a new Cabinet and a new Government – uncertainty rules.....
So, let’s not talk politics.

Let’s focus on celebrating Welsh construction and planning ahead. Because regardless of the outcome of the General Election we have a lot to be proud of and we should show it off. So, have you made plans yet for the 14th July? If you didn’t know already that is the night of the year when we come together as an industry supply chain and applaud the very best practice and examples of collaboration that makes Wales the envy of UK construction.

Why? Because we do it right. We have more entrants than any other region holding an event across the Constructing Excellence network. Our work in Wales stands out in terms of quality and quantity. This week we showcased the A465 heads of the Valleys (Section 2) Gilwern to Brynmawr as a new Exemplar, in years to come we will be celebrating how our construction teams have delivered great examples of collaborative procurement and best practice at Wylfa. Meanwhile, in and around our construction sites, we are pioneering new approaches to waste management and attacking head on issues around disposing of the wrong kind of refuse. This week’s column in the Western Mail highlights how CEW champions the idea of thinking differently.

That fresh approach is what sets Welsh construction apart. We are willing to look at the problems and challenges we face from a different perspective. That form of innovation is one vital element we will be celebrating in a months’ time at the CEW Awards 2017.
