At the end of July, Milica Kitson, Emma Thomas and Ed Evans, CEWales visited Great House Farm near St Fagans to see a private housing development that is achieving a high standard in energy efficient, sustainable homes.

LivEco, who specialise in building sustainable eco houses, are erecting eight new properties and renovating the existing farm house at the Great House Farm development, which is one of the last remaining protected areas of open countryside on the edge of Cardiff. It will be one of the first of a new generation of homes, created specifically for people who want to take advantage of new technologies and who want to live with the minimum possible carbon footprint.

Adjacent to the listed medival farmstead that is being lovingly restored, the new houses are designed around the old village pond amongst the remaining historic field system.

Views out from the site are extensive and are limited only by mature woodland along the skyline.

At the same time, home owners at Great House Farm will benefit from all the amenities available in a Capital City, accessible by local cycleways and public transport. Shops are close by, as is the beautiful village of St Fagans, well known for its atmospheric country pub and restuarants.

This event will include showcasing, open discussion and debate around BIM4Civils and will inform the agenda and adoption both in Wales and for the BIM Task Group. Please come with your ideas, questions and topics for debate and discussion.

In order to reduce wastage at our events CEW operates a policy of only notifying venue details when issuing registration confirmation. This ensures we only cater for delegates who have registered and don’t over order for individuals who may or may not turn up on the day.

Mae Adeiladu Arbenigrwydd yng Nghymru (CEW) ac ICE Cymru yn falch o drefnu’r digwyddiad canlynol.

Yn aml mae pobl yn credu mai dim ond ar gyfer adeiladau a chodi adeiladau newydd y gellir defnyddio’r broses Rheoli a Modelu Gwybodaeth Adeiladu – BIM. Mewn ymateb i sylwadau a gafwyd mewn cyrsiau BIM blaenorol crëwyd y sesiwn yma i ystyried BIM yn benodol yng nghyd-destun Peirianneg Sifil gan ddefnyddio enghreifftiau peirianneg sifil. Bydd y sesiwn yn dangos BIM ar waith mewn peirianneg sifil ac yn ystyried y gwahanol Enillion Buddsoddi (Returns on Investment) a geir o fodelau busnes BIM4 Sifil a BIM4 Adeiladu. Dangosir a thrafodir yn agored yr ystyriaethau perthnasol i BIM4 Sifil er mwyn hysbysu’r drafodaeth a’r posibilrwydd o’i fabwysiadau yng Nghymru, ac ar gyfer y Grŵp Tasg BIM. Cofiwch ddod â’ch syniadau a’ch cwestiynau i’w hystyried a’u trafod.
