Welcome to our Weekly E-Bulletin

Farewell to the mixed skip?
This is your opportunity to respond to Welsh Government's consultation on the seperate collection of paper, metal, plastic and glass. How will the seperate collection of these materials impact on the way in which you handle waste on site.

Timing is vital in all sorts of areas of our life – comedy, sport and industry too. So it was great that one of our CEW events examined the best way to approach transport improvement only days before Transport Minister Edwina Hart confirmed that roads, public transport, walking and cycling routes in Wales are to have £15.4m worth of improvements.

Forty-one projects are set for a boost, some of which, like the A470 featured in our event shared with the ICE, will need to deal with environmental challenges. What’s more, with a Government commitment to sustainability and low carbon transport, cycling routes, walking and bus corridors are a key feature of the plans revealed this week.

All of them will have their specific problems to be overcome. And each one can be managed best via a collaborative procurement approach. Just as with the A470 Maes yr Helmau to Cross Foxes, Dolgellau the answer to good project delivery is good planning, engagement and communication – backed up by a solid commitment to collaborative procurement. That is the way to deliver great projects for Wales and we must keep on reminding everyone involved in the decision making process.
