Value Wales Update

The latest news from Value Wales highlights the issues of ethical employment.

The Value Wales newsletter came out just before Easter and contains a great deal of useful information for everyone in construction. Not least around the issues of ethical employment.

This was the lead item – championed by Jane Hutt AM, Minister for Finance and Business Government. Links are below:

On Tuesday 22nd March, Jane Hutt AM, Minister for Finance and Business Government held an event at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff to set out her expectations on how employment should be approached for all publicly funded construction and infrastructure projects in Wales.

The event, held in partnership with Trade Unions, was attended by over 70 delegates including public sector clients, framework managers, contractors and members of Construction related groups. The event provided an opportunity to show how the Wales Procurement Policy Statement is in place to ensure the public sector take account of best practice when delivering public projects. Representatives from the Trade Unions and NHS also spoke, showing their support for the drive to develop more ethical supply chains.

For more information, please see the Minister’s Written Statement.
