Title: Welsh Government’s new SuDs Guidance and case studies seminar
Date: Wednesday 9th March 2016
Location: Ewloe
Time: 8am - 10am
Cost: £42 including VAT

The Welsh Government has published new standards and guidance for sustainable drainage serving new developments in Wales. The standards have been developed with support from HR Wallingford and take account of the latest SuDS Manual from CIRIA and feedback from a public consultation in 2015.

There are six standards, dealing with runoff destination, hydraulic control, water quality, amenity, recreation and design. Guidance on each of these is also included in the document, along with links to further relevant sources of information to aid design, construction and maintenance. The document also includes a section on SuDS Principles, providing a list of the principles, such as managing water on or close to the surface and as close to the source of the runoff as possible, which underpin the design of surface water management schemes to meet the Standards.

The Standards are currently non-statutory. Their publication will allow local authority staff and developers to test their operation on a voluntary basis. However, if the Welsh Government decides to implement the SuDS provisions of the 2010 Flood and Water Management Act in Wales, they could form the basis of statutory standards.

This breakfast seminar, presented by the Welsh Government, will highlight the opportunity the new guidance provides for the industry to integrate further sustainable urban drainage within both infrastructure and built environment projects. There will also be a case study presentation and update on Welsh Water’s Rainscape initiative as well as an opportunity for discussions and networking.

The seminar in Llanelli will be followed by a tour of the SuDS at Queen Marys Walk and adjacent streets. PPE is not required, but please wear suitable footwear and clothing for the walking tour.

How to Book: To reserve your place please email CEWales Events stating your full contact details and the names of all delegates wishing to attend.

Teitl: Seminar i drafod Canllaw SuDS newydd Llywodraeth Cymru ar gyfer draenio cynaliadwy
Dyddiad: Dydd Mercher 3 Mawrth
Lleoliad: Ewloe
Amser: 8am - 10am
Cost: £42 gan gynnwys TAW

Mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi cyhoeddi safonau a chanllawiau newydd ar gyfer draenio cynaliadwy i’w defnyddio gyda datblygiadau newydd yng Nghymru. Gwnaed hynny gyda chymorth HR Wallingford yng ngoleuni Llawlyfr SuDS diweddaraf CIRA a’r ymatebion i’r ymgynghoriad cyhoeddus a gynhaliwyd yn 2015.

Mae’r canllaw yn cynnwys chwe safon yn ymwneud â’r canlynol: cyrchfan dŵr wyneb ffo; rheolaeth hydrolig; ansawdd dŵr, amwynder, bioamrywiaeth a dylunio. Ceir arweiniad ynghylch pob un ohonynt yn y ddogfen, ynghyd â linciau at wybodaeth bellach i helpu’r gwaith o ddylunio, adeiladu a chynnal systemau draenio. Mae adran ar Egwyddorion SuDS – er enghraifft, rheoli dŵr ar yr wyneb, neu’n agos iddo, a’i reoli mor agos â phosibl at ffynhonnell y dŵr sy’n llifo. Dyma’r egwyddorion i’w dilyn os yw cynlluniau rheoli dŵr wyneb i gwrdd â’r Safonau.

Anstatudol yw’r safonau ar hyn o bryd. Bydd eu cyhoeddi yn galluogi staff awdurdodau lleol a datblygwyr i brofi eu cynlluniau ar sail gwirfoddol. Fodd bynnag, os yw Llywodraeth Cymru yn penderfynu gweithredu’r darpariaethau SuDS a geir yn Neddf Rheoli Llifogydd a Dŵr 2010, fe allent fod yn sail i safonau statudol.

Bydd y seminar brecwast hwn, a gyflwynir gan Lywodraeth Cymru, yn dwyn sylw at yr angen i sicrhau fod systemau draenio trefol cynaliadwy yn cael eu hymgorffori’n well o fewn prosiectau seilwaith a’r amgylchedd adeiledig. Cyflwynir astudiaethau achos, cewch wybod y diweddaraf am gynllun GlawLif (Rainscape) Dŵr Cymru a bydd cyfleoedd i drafod a rhwydweithio.

Yn dilyn seminar Llanelli, bydd taith o amgylch y cynllun SuDS a gwblhawyd yn Rhodfa’r Frenhines Mary a strydoedd cyfagos. Nid oes raid gwisgo dillad diogelwch PPE, ond cofiwch ddod ag esgidiau a dillad addas ar gyfer taith gerdded.

Sut i archebu lle: Mae'r digwyddiad hwn yn rhad ac am ddim, ond rhaid i chi gofrestru o flaen llaw. Gyrrwch ebost at CEWales Digwyddiadau gan nodi eich manylion cyswllt yn llawn ac enwi pawb sy’n dymuno mynychu. Gallwch newid eich cynrychiolydd ar unrhyw adeg. Codir diffyg presenoldeb gan unrhyw gynrychiolydd cofrestredig yn llawn oni bai eich bod wedi hysbysu ein cyn y digwyddiad.

Er mwyn lleihau gwastraff yn ein digwyddiadau, mae CEW yn gweithredu polisi o gadarnhau manylion y lleoliad ar ôl cofrestru’n unig. Bydd hyn yn sicrhau mai dim ond ar gyfer y rhai sydd wedi cofrestru y byddwn yn darparu ac nad ydym yn gor-archebu ar gyfer unigolion a allasai ddod heb archebu lle, neu rai nad ydynt yn.
