Title: Llandough Adult Mental Health Unit (LAMHU) – Exemplar Presentation and Tour - “Build before you build” – Modern methods of construction in the health sector

Delivering an exemplar modern mental health facility suited to the treatment needs of the 21st Century is a challenge in itself. Delivering this in the centre of a busy live hospital environment with the inevitable risk of disruption to patients, visitors and staff working within the Llandough Campus presents another challenge altogether.
This event will offer you the chance to see how the team met this challenge head on. A critical part of the delivery strategy was the adoption of off-site methods of construction (Designing for Manufacture and Assembly) to drive greater efficiency. However, this event will also demonstrate how a collaborative approach based on early integration of the whole team has supported :
- Cost and time certainty
- Programme efficiency
- Reductions in construction waste
- High standards of health and safety
- High environmental performance
All supported through the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
The project is now nearing completion so this is an opportunity to see what has been achieved. The event is appropriate, not just for those involved in the health sector, but, for anyone involved in designing, building and operating major building assets.

Mae creu adnodd iechyd meddwl modern, rhagorol ac addas ar gyfer triniaethau’r 21ain ganrif yn her aruthrol. Ar Gampws Ysbyty Llandochau cyflawnwyd camp fwy fyth gan fod y gwaith yn digwydd yng nghanol prysurdeb bywyd arferol yr ysbyty, gyda’r perygl amlwg o darfu ar gleifion, ymwelwyr a staff.
Mae’r cyfarfod hwn yn gyfle ichi weld sut yr aeth y tîm i’r afael â’r her. Rhan allweddol o’u strategaeth oedd adeiladu ymlaen llaw, ymaith o’r safle, trwy’r dull Dylunio ar gyfer Cynhyrchu a Chydosod (Designing for Manufacture and Assembly) i wella effeithlonrwydd. Hefyd, cewch weld manteision integreiddio’r tîm cyfan yn gynnar iawn yn y broses er mwyn sicrhau cydweithio - manteision oedd yn cynnwys:

Gyda’r prosiect bron â’i gwblhau, mae’n gyfle i weld sut y llwyddwyd. Ac mae’n ddigwyddiad nid yn unig i bobl sy’n gweithio yn y sector iechyd ond hefyd i unrhyw un sy’n ymwneud â dylunio, codi a rhedeg prosiect adeiladu mawr.
