The Arbed programme was established to support the energy efficiency of homes in Wales and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By doing so it will contribute to eradicating fuel poverty and provide a boost to local economies by using local businesses to manufacture, supply and install as many of the improvement measures as possible. It will also provide training and employment opportunities for local workers.

It’s total value across Wales is up to £45 million. This overall investment will:

• improve the energy efficiency of a minimum of 4800 existing homes in Wales by the end of 2015.
• reduce a minimum of 2.54 KTC (Kilo tons of carbon) of greenhouse gas emissions by the end of 2015.

Phase 2 of the arbed programme started in May 2012 and, in South Wales, is being delivered by Melin Homes.

What is particularly evident is the way in which Melin Homes have undertaken this work and the added value they are delivering for local communities through this investment. As winners of the 2014 CEW Award for Leadership and People Development Melin Homes’ approach has been exemplary through their management and development of their supply chain through to the benefits to their local communities. Melin have used the Welsh Government’s Value Wales Community Benefits Measurement Tool to great effect and are demonstrating a value in excess of £29m to the Welsh economy on an initial investment of £14.3m.

This is your opportunity to hear how they have achieved these results through their investment in supply chain development, apprenticeships and the employment of disadvantaged workers. You’ll also hear how their experiences are helping to further develop the Measurement Tool.

Sefydlwyd y Rhaglen Arbed i gefnogi defnydd effeithlon o ynni yng nghartrefi Cymru a lleihau allyriadau nwyon tŷ gwydr. Bydd y rhaglen yn cyfrannu at ddileu tlodi tanwydd ac yn hwb i gymunedau lleol drwy ddefnyddio busnesau lleol i gynhyrchu, cyflenwi a gosod cyn gymaint ag y bo modd o’r mesurau gwella. Bydd hefyd yn cynnig cyfleoedd hyfforddiant a gwaith i weithwyr lleol.

Cyfanswm gwerth y rhaglen yng Nghymru yw hyd at £45 miliwn. Yn ei gyfanrwydd bydd y buddsoddiad:

• Yn gwella effeithlonrwydd ynni o leiaf 4,800 o dai presennol Cymru erbyn diwedd 2015

Dechreuodd Cam 2 y Rhaglen Arbed ym Mai 2012 ac yn Ne Cymru caiff ei rhedeg gan Cartrefi Melin.

Yr hyn sy’n arbennig o drawiadol yw’r ffordd y cyflawnodd Cartrefi Melin y gwaith hwn, ynghyd â’r gwerth ychwanegol y maent yn ei greu i gymunedau lleol drwy eu buddsoddiad. Fel enillwyr Gwobr CEW am Arweiniad a Datblygu Pobl mae’r modd y maent wedi datblygu eu cadwyn gyflenwi a’r budd i’w cymunedau lleol yn esiampl ardderchog i bawb. Defnyddiodd Cartrefi Melin offeryn Llywodraeth Cymru - Offeryn Mesur Budd Cymunedol Gwerth Cymru - yn hynod effeithiol i greu gwerth ychwanegol mesuradwy o fwy na £29m i economi Cymru allan o fuddsoddiad gwreiddiol o £14.3m.

Dyma eich cyfle i glywed sut y bu iddynt lwyddo i gael y canlyniadau hyn drwy fuddsoddi yn natblygiad eu cadwyn gyflenwi, creu prentisiaethau a chyflogi gweithwyr dan anfantais. Cewch glywed hefyd sut mae eu profiadau yn helpu i ddatblygu ymhellach yr Offeryn Mesur.

Sut i Archebu: I gadw lle, ebostiwch CEWales Events gan roi eich holl fanylion cyswllt ac enw pob cynrychiolydd sydd am ddod. Gallwch roi enw cynrychiolwyr eraill yn eu lle ar unrhyw adeg.

Er mwyn lleihau gwastraff yn ein digwyddiadau, mae gan CEW bolisi o roi gwybod am fanylion y lleoliad yn unig wrth anfon cadarnhad cofrestru.
