Often it is the bigger projects that steal the glory when we come to celebrate Welsh construction. On Friday we saw once again that our industry is setting a benchmark for the UK when construction schemes, leaders and organisations in Wales won three of the national Constructing Excellence Awards on Friday evening.

Welsh businesses are being invited to bid for grants from a £1.5m Welsh Government fund for capital projects that aims to encourage investment to support the creation of 250 jobs while also safeguarding and assisting several hundred more.

Constructing Excellence in Wales is looking for a project manager to join its Waste team.

Constructing Excellence in Wales (CEW) receives specific funding to deliver the Construction and Demolition Waste Programme. The programme works across the construction industry to promote and exemplify best practice and innovation; support market development where there is a market failure; and through leadership, engagement and awareness raising assist in the achievement of the Welsh Government’s resource efficiency policy objectives. 

It is celebration time again for Welsh construction! Once again Welsh architects, designers, engineers, builders and leaders stole the glory at the National Constructing Excellence awards (held on Friday evening,15th November) and walked away with three of the 14 awards available.

It proves what we have known for a long time – Wales is an exemplar construction industry in its own right. Remind yourself what makes Welsh construction a UK leader.
