Weekly E-Bulletin from CEW

It is difficult to keep construction out of the news in Wales right now. On Monday we saw news that Welsh Government is backing the construction of the new £45m Cardiff and the Vale College new flagship Canal Parade Campus in Cardiff Bay.

Then we heard the news that Spanish developer FCC and local partner Alun Griffiths (Contractors) will start preparatory work before Christmas on a £280m motor racing circuit in Blaenau Gwent. After several months of uncertainty, the developer, Heads of the Valleys Development Company has sealed a section 106 agreement with the local council allowing work to get underway. Both projects are very different examples of how construction can play a major role in stimulating the economy and rejuvenating local areas.

What we all need to do now is make sure we all pull together as one single cohesive economic sector and that we build on the momentum beginning to grow across Wales.
