Title: CLAW/CEW BIM Toolkit for Clients Client Training and Supplier Awareness Sessions
Date: Wednesday 24th September 2014
Location: Cardiff
Cost: Free
Morning: CLAW Member sessions 9am-1pm
Afternoon: Supplier and Client sessions 1-4pm
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is increasingly becoming a standard and integral part of the construction process. The UK Government has mandated BIM level 2 on all its projects from 2016 and the Welsh Government has endorsed the approach following the launch of the Wales Construction Procurement Strategy in 2013.
Whilst many in the supply chain have been exploring the benefits of BIM, client leadership is recognised as a key driver in moving the BIM agenda forward in Wales. This is why the Consortium of Local Authorities in Wales (CLAW) and Constructing Excellence in Wales (CEW) have developed a BIM Toolkit for Clients. This will ensure that public sector clients in Wales are able to specify their BIM requirements in a consistent fashion which should make the process of engagement simpler for the supply chain.
The toolkit has now been web-based for ease of use and navigation and it is our intention to hold three separate training and awareness sessions across Wales to ensure that CLAW members are able to apply the toolkit to their current and future projects and that suppliers are aware and can align themselves with these requirements.
Each session will comprise a full morning of briefings and instructions with references to case studies. These will be open to CLAW members only. However, in the afternoon, awareness sessions will be open to other clients and industry suppliers so they can become more familiar with the way Welsh public sector clients will specify BIM requirements in future.
Who should attend :
CLAW Members – to understand how the Toolkit will support CLAW member organisations in specifying their BIM requirements to their supply chains
Other clients - to understand how the Toolkit could support their organisations in specifying their BIM requirements to their supply chains
Suppliers – to understand how CLAW member organisations will be specifying their BIM requirements in future so that they can prepare their organisations for future projects. This will be particularly relevant to existing and prospective local authority framework contractors and consultants.

Title: Pecyn Cymorth modelu BIM gan claw/CEW i Gleientiaid Sesiynau Codi Ymwybyddiaeth Cyflenwyr
Date: Dydd Mercher 24 Medi 2014
Location: Caerdydd
Cost: Free
Bore: Sesiynau Aelodau CLAW 9-1yp
Prynhawn: Sesiynau Gyflenwyr a Cleientiaid 1 - 4yp
Mae Modelu Gwybodaeth Adeiladu (Building Information Modelling - BIM) yn datblygu i fod yn rhan safonol a chynhenid o’r broses adeiladu. Dywedodd Llywodraeth y Deyrnas Unedig y bydd BIM lefel 2 yn ddisgwyliedig ym mhob un o’i phrosiectau o 2016 ymlaen a chefnogodd Llywodraeth Cymru y ffordd hon o weithredu yn dilyn lansio Strategaeth Gaffael Gwaith Adeiladu Cymru yn 2013.
Archwiliwyd manteision BIM gan lawer o fewn y gadwyn gyflenwi ond gwyddom yn dda mai arweiniad gan y cleient yw’r gyrrwr allweddol i symud yr agenda BIM yn ei blaen yng Nghymru. Dyma pam y datblygodd Consortiwm Awdurdodau Lleol Cymru (CLAW) ac Adeiladu Arbenigrwydd yng Nghymru (CEW) eu Pecyn Cymorth BIM i Gleientiaid. Bwriad y pecyn yw sicrhau cysondeb wrth i gleientiaid sector cyhoeddus yng Nghymru nodi eu gofynion BIM, a thrwy hynny wneud y broses o gymryd rhan yn llawer symlach i’r gadwyn gyflenwi.
Bellach mae pecyn cymorth ar y we i’w gwneud yn hwylus a hawdd ei ddefnyddio, a bwriadwn gynnal tair sesiwn hyfforddi mewn gwahanol rannau o Gymru i ddangos i aelodau CLAW sut i gymhwyso’r pecyn cymorth i brosiectau presennol a chynlluniau’r dyfodol ac i godi ymwybyddiaeth ymysg cyflenwyr.
Bydd pob cyfarfod yn cynnwys bore llawn o sesiynau briffio a hyfforddi, gan ddefnyddio astudiaethau achos enghreifftiol. Ar gyfer aelodau CLAW yn unig y mae’r sesiynau hyn. Ond yn y prynhawn bydd sesiynau codi ymwybyddiaeth sy’n agored i holl gyflenwyr y diwydiant adeiladu i roi cyfle iddynt weld sut y bydd cleientiaid sector cyhoeddus yn nodi gofynion BIM yn y dyfodol.
Pwy ddyliau fynychu y sesiynau:
Aelodau CLAW - i ddeallt sut fydd y Pecyn Cymorth yn cefnogi aelodau CLAW i bennu eu gofynion BIM i'w cyflenwyr
Cleientiaid eraill - i ddeallt sut fedrith y Pecyn Cymorth cefnogi nhw
Cyflenwyr - i ddeallt sut y bydd aelodau CLAW yn pennu eu gofynion BIM yn y dyfodol er mwyn paratoi eu hun am brosiectau'r dyfodol. Bydd hyn yn berthnasol i gyflenwyr sydd ar fframweithiau cynghorau lleol
Sut i Archebu: I gadw lle, ebostiwch CEWales Events gan roi eich holl fanylion cyswllt ac enw pob cynrychiolydd sydd am ddod. Gallwch roi enw cynrychiolwyr eraill yn eu lle ar unrhyw adeg.
I ddod yn aelod o’r Clwb Arferion Gorau ewch at Dudalen y Clwb am fanylion. Mae modd yn awr talu trwy gerdyn credyd/debyd.
Er mwyn lleihau gwastraff yn ein digwyddiadau, mae gan CEW bolisi o roi gwybod am fanylion y lleoliad yn unig wrth anfon cadarnhad cofrestru. Mae hyn yn fodd o sicrhau ein bod yn darparu ar gyfer cynrychiolwyr sydd wedi cofrestru ac nad ydym yn gor-archebu ar gyfer unigolion a all ymddangos neu beidio ar y diwrnod.
