Welcome to the CEW Weekly E-Bulletin

Government will always play a critical role in construction. No matter who wins the General Election next week our industry will be needed to build the homes politicians are arguing about, the infrastructure the economy needs and the transport systems to keep the country moving.

That’s the same for Wales as well as the rest of the UK. The trick is to make sure that politicians and other key decision makers are well informed about the issues we face each day. So, whilst it is still very much political rhetoric it is good to see many of the leading political campaigners backing the call for better apprenticeships and sustainable homes. But as an industry we already responding to demand before the politicians are making the call. Just look at the great projects celebrated by the LABC in north Wales two weeks ago and check out the short listed projects and organisations in our own CEW Awards. As a supply chain we know what needs to be done. We just need the chance to deliver on best value, low carbon and waste by being allowed the opportunity to work collaboratively in a consistent manner across all of the schemes available.

That’s why no matter what happens in Westminster or in local elections CEW will carry on making the case for best practice. It’s why we still need your support and why we will be having such a great celebration at the CEW Awards on 12 June. Do check the CEW Website for details about the evening and how to book your seat or become a sponsor.
