New homes mean new roads and new drainage and that means being aware of environmental issues around sustainable water management and urban drainage.

Flooding risks and the demand for new homes and the development of new infrastructure means that our supplky chain must be aware of the environmental issues surrounding sustainable water management. Subsidised courses are available but places are limited.

The course will develop the participants' understanding of Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUDs) and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) approaches, multi-discipline design, planning aspects and community engagement.

The two workshop parts of the course will be held at the Wildlife Trust's Parc Slip Visitor Centre near Bridgend on 20th May and 9th or 10th June. The course is aimed at built environment professionals in Wales including: Civil Engineers, Water Engineers, Planners, Urban Designers, Landscape Architects, Ecologists, Main Contractors, Landscape Contractors, Land Owners, Estate Maintenance Professionals and college lecturers - in the capacity of Continuing Professional Development.
