Title:
Sustainable Building Envelope Centre (SBEC)
Date: Friday 13th December 2013
Location: Flintshire (venue confirmed on registration)
Time: 8am – 11am
Cost: £20 (plus VAT)

This visit will tour the innovative Sustainable Building Envelope Centre (SBEC) building at TATA Steel’s Shotton site in North Wales, which has pioneered a completely unique system capturing solar thermal and photovoltaic technologies, turning the very fabric of the building into an energy producing material.

Traditionally, the building envelope has performed a passive role of energy conservation and weather tightness. This building will show you how the SBEC team has developed ways of using the fabric of the building to harvest the sun’s energy, optimise storage and enable delivery of usable energy, while enhancing the overall efficiency of the building.

Come along and see for yourself how the team has worked with industry partners to transform the role of the building fabric from a passive to an active one, generating, storing and dissipating renewable energy for the end purpose of delivering zero carbon buildings. Active solar heating devices such as Transpired Solar Collectors (TSC) and Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) were developed and coupled with booster systems such as gas burners and heat pumps to deliver the renewable energy.

Join one of the TATA team members on this journey from passive to active building envelopes and see for yourself how the Low Carbon Research Institute’s Low Carbon Built Environment project is developing ground breaking work in Wales at SBEC.

‘The legacy of this work is positioning Wales as a leader in delivering zero or low carbon buildings... A significant value of the products and technologies developed will be delivered from within Wales.’

Lleoliad:  Sir y Fflint (y lleoliad i’w gadarnhau wrth gofrestru)
Amser: 8 – 11
Cost: £20 (yn fwy TAW)

Bydd yr ymweliad hwn yn teithio o amgylch Canolfan Amlen Adeilad Cynaliadwy (Sustainable Building Envelope Centre (SBEC)) gwaith dur TATA Shotton, sydd wedi creu system arloesol unigryw sy’n dal pelydrau thermal yr haul a thechnoleg ffotofoltaig, a throi gwneuthuriad yr adeilad ei hun yn ddeunydd creu egni.

Yn draddodiadol mae amlen yr adeilad wedi chwarae rôl gefndirol wrth arbed ynni ac i arbed rhag y tywydd. Bydd yr adeilad hwn yn dangos sut y datblygodd tîm SBEC ffyrdd o ddefnyddio deunyddiau’r adeilad ar gyfer casglu ynni’r haul, uchafu storfeydd a chaniatáu defnyddio’r ynni, wrth wella effeithlonrwydd cyffredinol yr adeilad.

Dewch draw i weld drosoch eich hun sut y mae’r tîm wedi gweithio gyda phartneriaid o fewn y diwydiant i drawsnewid rôl defnydd adeiladau o fod yn oddefol i fod yn weithredol, gan gynhyrchu, storio a rhannu ynni adnewyddol gan anelu tuag at greu adeilad di-garbon . Mae peiriannau solar gweithredol megis Casglwyr Solar Trydarthol (Transpired Solar Collectors) a Chasglwyr Ffotofoltaig Integredig mewn Adeilad (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) wedi cael eu datblygu a’u cyplysu â systemau atgyfnerthu megis llosgwyr nwy a phympiau gwres i greu ynni adnewyddol.

Ymunwch ag un o aelodau tîm TATA ar y daith hon i weld amlenni adeiladu yn mynd o’r goddefol i’r gweithredol, a gweld gyda’ch llygaid eich hun sut y mae prosiect Amgylchedd Adeiladu Carbon Isel y Sefydliad Ymchwil i Garbon Isel yn gwneud gwaith arloesol yng Nghymru yn adeilad SBEC.

‘Etifeddiaeth y gwaith hwn yw gosod Cymru ar flaen y gad yn darparu adeiladau dim carbon neu garbon isel…..bydd cyfran sylweddol o’r cynhyrchion a’r technolegau a ddatblygir yn cael ei ddarparu o Gymru.’

Sut i archebu lle: Gyrrwch ebost at CEWales Digwyddiadau gan nodi eich manylion cyswllt yn llawn ac enwi pawb sy’n dymuno mynychu. Gallwch newid eich cynrychiolydd ar unrhyw adeg.

Bydd diffyg presenoldeb gan unrhyw cynrychiolydd cofrestredig yn cael ei godi yn llawn oni bai eich bod wedi dweud wrthym erbyn Dydd Mercher 11 Rhagfyr, 2013

I ymaelodi â’r Clwb Arfer Gorau ewch i Dudalen y Clwb am fwy o fanylion. Erbyn hyn mae modd talu trwy ddefnyddio cerdyn credyd neu ddebyd.

Er mwyn lleihau gwastraff yn ein digwyddiadau, mae CEW yn gweithredu polisi o gadarnhau manylion y lleoliad ar ôl cofrestru’n unig.Bydd hyn yn sicrhau mai dim ond ar gyfer y rhai sydd wedi cofrestru y byddwn yn darparu ac nad ydym yn gor-archebu ar gyfer unigolion a allasai ddod heb archebu lle, neu rai nad ydynt yn troi fyny ar y diwrnod.
