Constructing Excellence in Wales is pleased to present the following event.
What happens to a building at the end of its life? What happens to the building materials? Do you care about the long term implications?
If you are interested in the deconstruction of a building and its impact on the wider environment come and join us at our breakfast event on Design for Deconstruction.
Design for Deconstruction (D4D) is a desire of Welsh Government to push waste up the hierarchy and increase the reuse of materials. In response to this we have produced a feasibility report on D4D. The report was informed by topic research and industry feedback via the analysis of existing literature and interactive workshops. Key topics include the potential implementation of tax incentives and carbon credits into construction projects and the potential for increased education and training regimes.
We would like to use this event to share these ideas with the broader construction industry. The event will consist of a short presentation followed by a facilitated discussion. We will use this discussion to determine the feasibility of the D4D principle.

How to Book: This event is free of charge but you must register in advance. To reserve your place please email CEWales Events stating your full contact details and the names of all delegates wishing to attend.
Non-attendance by any registered delegate will be charged £20 unless you have informed us by Friday 10th October. We confirm numbers to the venue the day before the event and numbers cannot be amended we are charged in full for that amount.
In order to reduce wastage at our events CEW operates a policy of only notifying venue details when issuing registration confirmation. This ensures we only cater for delegates who have registered and don’t over order for individuals who may or may not turn up on the day.

Seiliwyd yr adroddiad ar ymchwil i’r pwnc ac adborth o’r diwydiant. Dadansoddwyd y llenyddiaeth sydd ar gael a chynhaliwyd gweithdai rhyngweithiol. Mae’r ystyriaethau allweddol yn cynnwys oblygiadau posibl rhoi cymhellion treth a chredydau carbon i brosiectau adeiladu, a’r potensial ar gyfer cryfhau trefniadau addysg a hyfforddiant.
Hoffem ddefnyddio’r cyfarfod hwn i rannu syniadau gyda’r diwydiant adeiladu ehangach. Bydd yno gyflwyniad byr ac wedyn trafodaeth dan arweiniad hwylusydd. Defnyddiwn y drafodaeth i benderfynu i ba raddau y mae’r egwyddor D4D yn ymarferol a chadarn.
