What Kind of Wales do you Want To Build?

Building for our future is an important goal for CEW and the whole industry. It cannot be taken for granted and we want to engage the young and new professional in Welsh construction and tie them into debates such as the Future Generations Bill.

That was exactly what happened at last week’s G4C Wales in Cardiff, when Peter Davies, Chairman Climate Change Commission for Wales/Sustainable Futures Commissioner Cynnal Cymru, Sustain Wales led a discussion about the Future Generations Bill. Peter linked the conversation to the national debate on the Wales we Want – an opportunity to shape the long term goals for Wales and set the measures that matter.

Building a sustainable Wales is important, but making sure everyone is involved with it – either professionally or as part of the wider community is hugely important. That’s why we are so keen to promote the work of G4C, the part of the Constructing Excellence movement that particularly champions the contributions of young professionals in the industry. The core idea behind G4C is to harness the power of the next generation, our leaders of tomorrow, from across the industry to drive change for the better, improving the way the industry functions and the subsequent asset outcomes it provides to society.

G4C is wholly inclusive, embracing all new comers to the industry and recent graduates who have an interest in the Welsh built environment and developing their career.

If you want to influence the debate about how we build a better Wales and what that will look like contact us to find out about G4C events. But in the meantime why not check out Wales we Want and take its quick survey and join the biggest conversation taking place in Wales. This is your opportunity to share your views on the Wales you want for our future generations. You can join the conversation as an individual, group, community or network. Considering what Wales could look like in 2050 raises a number of important questions. Are we happy with how things will be?  Which elements would we like to change and which would we like to maintain?  What can we do now to ensure that our vision is achieved?

Why not do the survey, but then share your ideas and thoughts with the CEW team as well?
