Building information modelling has been in the news again recently. Discussions online, special events and extended features in the media such as Construction News indicate that BIM is now a core feature of our industry.

That’s why Wales has to take the lead and why the event we held last week was so important. Along with CLAW, the Consortium of Local Authorities in Wales (representing the 22 Welsh local authorities), we started to develop a BIM toolkit for clients in the Welsh public sector.

Welsh Public Sector Clients Taking a Lead on BIM
 

As the use and benefits of BIM become more widespread across the industry one of the important debates currently underway is the degree to which clients should lead on the application of BIM and how strongly should the supply chain push the agenda.

Last week CEWales and CLAW, the Consortium of Local Authorities in Wales, which includes all 22 Welsh local authorities, started to develop a BIM toolkit for clients in the Welsh public sector.
