The South West Wales Best Practice Club are pleased to present another breakfast event with Gerald Naylor, Project Direct, UWTSD and Anthony Rees, Regional Manager, South West Wales Regional Shared Apprenticeship Ltd.
Gerald will give an update on the Construction Wales Innovation Centre and Anthony will present on the Cyfle shared apprenticeship scheme, further information is shown below.
The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and a consortium led by The University of Wales Trinity Saint David, will establish the Construction Wales Innovation Centre (CWIC) to offer state-of-the-art facilities and world-class training for individuals and construction companies. With its proposed headquarters at the Swansea Waterfront Innovation Quarter, the CWIC will also have sites at colleges across Wales, including Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion, which are part of the UWTSD Group, and Coleg Cambria in North Wales and Coleg y Cymoedd in South East Wales. Construction is due to begin towards the end of 2016 with the CWIC's opening targeted for September 2018.
Cyfle Building Skills is a Multi Award Winner Regional Shared Apprenticeship Scheme, that currently employs over 140 apprentices. It is a Shared Apprenticeship Scheme that was launched by South West Wales Regional Shared Apprenticeship Ltd (SWWRSAL) and CITB in 2013 which is currently the largest Shared Apprenticeship Scheme in the UK. The aim is to provide a service which supports young adults into sustainable employment within the construction industry. This will help young people further their careers and their chances of gaining employment. They will have the opportunity to gain an NVQ level 2 & 3.

Dyma ragor o wybodaeth am cynllun hwnnw:
Mae’n fwriad gan Fwrdd Hyfforddi’r Diwydiant Adeiladu (y CITB) a chonsortiwm dan arweiniad Prifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewi Sant i sefydlu Canolfan Arloesedd ar gyfer sector Adeiladu Cymru. Yno bydd y cyfleusterau mwyaf modern a hyfforddiant o safon byd eang ar gael i unigolion a chwmnïau adeiladu.
Bydd y pencadlys arfaethedig yn Ardal Arloesi Glannau Abertawe (Swansea Waterfront Innovation Quarter). Ond bydd gan y Ganolfan Arloesedd bresenoldeb hefyd mewn colegau ym mhob rhan o Gymru, yn cynnwys Coleg Sir Gâr a Choleg Ceredigion, sy’n rhan o Grŵp Prifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewis Sant, Coleg Cambria yng Ngogledd Cymru a Choleg y Cymoedd yn Ne Ddwyrain Cymru. Bydd gwaith adeiladu’r ganolfan newydd yn dechrau tua diwedd 2016 gyda’r nod o’i hagor ar gyfer Medi 2018.
Enillwyd llawer iawn o wobrau gan y cynllun Adeiladu Sgiliau (Building Skills) – sef cynllun rhanbarthol rhannu prentisiaeth sy’n cyflogi dros 140 o brentisiaid. Lansiwyd y cynllun gan South West Wales Regional Shared Apprenticeship Ltd a’r CITB yn 2013. Hwn yw cynllun rhannu prentisiaeth mwyaf y Deyrnas Unedig. Mae’n cynnig gwasanaeth sy’n helpu oedolion ifanc i sicrhau gwaith cynaliadwy yn y diwydiant adeiladu. Bydd hyn hefyd yn helpu pobl ifanc i ddatblygu eu gyrfaoedd, a’u siawns o gael swyddi. Hefyd, mae cyfle iddynt ennill cymwysterau NVQ lefel 2 a 3.
Yn dilyn y ddau gyflwyniad bydd Clwb Arfer Gorau De Orllewin Cymru yn cynnal ei Gyfarfod Cyffredinol Blynyddol (AGM) ac mae croeso ichi fod yn bresennol.
