Welsh Government - Brief survey of Structural Engineers in Wales

Welsh Government - Brief survey of Structural Engineers in Wales

(Welsh version below)

The Welsh Government intends to review Building Regulations Approved Document Part A as it applies in Wales.

The current Approved Document Part A for Wales references British Standards which were withdrawn in 2010, and will no longer be maintained after 2015. The Welsh Government plan to update Approved Document Part A to include references to the updated British Standards (incorporating Eurocodes).

Prior to updating the Approved Document, we will undertake a Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) in order to assess the potential impact of these changes upon structural engineering firms. To improve the accuracy of our RIA, we would like to know more about how many structural engineering firms are currently operating in Wales, their size and whether they are currently using the Eurocodes.

We would be grateful if you could take 2 minutes to complete a brief survey which will help to inform our RIA.

Please note, all answers to questions 1 (name of firm) will be treated in strictest confidence and will not be published or shared by Welsh Government under any circumstances. If you have any questions regarding the confidentiality of this survey, please contact thomas.mclean@wales.gsi.gov.uk or the Building Regulations team at enquiries.brconstruction@wales.gsi.gov.uk

The survey will close on 13 November 2014.

Thank you for your help

Mae Llywodraeth Cymru’n bwriadu adolygu Dogfen Gymeradwy Rhan A’r Rheoliadau Adeiladu lle mae’n berthnasol i Gymru.

Mae’r Ddogfen Gymeradwy Rhan A gyfredol yn cyfeirio at Safonau Prydeinig a dynnwyd yn ôl yn 2010 ac na fyddant yn cael eu cynnal ar ôl 2015. Mae Llywodraeth Cymru’n bwriadu diweddaru Dogfen Gymeradwy Rhan A er mwyn cynnwys cyfeiriadau at y Safonau Prydeinig diweddaraf (sy’n ymgorffori Ewrogodau).

Cyn diweddaru’r Ddogfen Gymeradwy, byddwn yn cynnal Asesiad Effaith Rheoleiddiol (RIA) er mwyn asesu effaith dichonol y cyfnewidiadau yma ar gwmnïau peirianneg adeiladu. Er mwyn gwella cywirdeb ein RIA, hoffem gael gwybod am y nifer o gwmnïau peirianneg adeiladu sy’n gweithredu yng Nghymru, eu maint ac a ydynt yn defnyddio’r Ewrogodau ar hyn o bryd.

Byddem yn ddiolchgar pe baech yn rhoi dau funud i gwblhau ein harolwg byr. Bydd hyn yn gymorth i ni gynhyrchu ein RIA.

Sylwer - bydd pob ateb i Gwestiwn 1 yn cael ei ystyried yn gyfrinachol ac nid fydd yn cael ei gyhoeddi na’i rannu o gwbl mewn unrhyw amgylchiad gan Lywodraeth Cymru. Os oes gennych gwestiynau o ran cyfrinachedd yr arolwg, e-bostiwch thomas.mclean@cymru.gsi.gov.uk neu’r tîm Rheoliadau Adeiladu at enquiries.brconstruction@cymru.gsi.gov.uk

Bydd yr arolwg yn cau ar 13 Tachwedd 2014.

Diolch yn fawr am eich cymorth.
