Constructing Excellence in Wales and ICE Wales Cymru are pleased to present the following event.
Responding to feedback from our previous successful run of Demystifying BIM, Intermediate BIM and Government Soft Landings sessions Constructing Excellence Wales are pleased to announce – BIM 4 Civils – in action.
This half day seminar will look at the drivers and practicalities of BIM and its application and adoption on Civil Engineering projects.
The seminar will equip delegates with a sound understanding of BIM, where it has come from and how it has been progressively adopted on projects within a capital programme administered through a framework. Delivered by Professor Andrew Thomas co-author of BIM strategy and recognised BIM presenter and facilitator.
There will be a live demonstration of creating an infrastructure based BIM model from first principles and web based data –through to using that model for take-off purposes and co-ordination of proposed project elements and existing services.
Mott MacDonald will tell their Utilities BIM story and be able to articulate the challenges and benefits of their BIM journey on Civils infrastructure projects in the water industry.
The session is populated with real case studies (Civils and Building), access to models, as well as considering compliance with BIM standards and a debate as to the future for BIM.
We have allocated time for open discussion to take questions and we look forward to your input and challenge.
