Constructing Excellence in Wales held a launch event last Tuesday for the CEW Enabling Zero Waste project

The CEW Waste Programme team launched it's innovative pilot project - Enabling Zero Waste - informing the industry about the viability of zero waste to landfill in new build, refurbishment and demolition projects.

The launch involved achievements, challenges, obstacles and solutions and provide learning opportunities and develop understanding of the feasibility of the Welsh Government Zero Waste aspiration.

Enabling Zero Waste Launch
 

Constructing Excellence in Wales (CEW), the Welsh Government sponsored organisation which encourages the industry to rethink and improve the construction process, has today announced the launch of a new project intended to put Wales at the forefront of global efforts to reduce construction waste.

The ‘Enabling Zero Waste’ project will work with four specially selected pilot schemes across Wales to identify ways that construction and demolition projects can generate less waste, reuse materials and use more recycled content. The aim is to establish if, and how, the construction industry can achieve the overarching strategy for waste in Wales of zero waste to landfill.

UK Government Event on Zero Carbon: Nearer to Zero Conference London
The Zero Carbon Hub is launching the results from the energy Performance Gap project in London on the 8th July. 

The Wales Low Zero Carbon Hub (WLZCH) will be hosting the Zero Carbon Hub to present this report later in the summer – further details to be released shortly.
